How trips work…
What’s included?
On every trip, we give you the option to select what is needed, and every trip will have slightly different additions which may change costs. Our base trip price includes your accommodation, carpool organisation, bedding organisation, social activities up on the hill, basic personal insurance cover and food/ beverage expenses depending on the trip. However you will need to purchase your own lift ticket due to the mountains not allowing us to do group bookings. From there you can choose additional add-ons (lessons, rental, extra days) - RUSS has corresponding partners for these purposes and can aid / assist this process. Feel free to message us on Facebook or Instagram for more info.
How much do trips cost? And when do we pay?
The cost for each trip varies due to changes in accommodation, duration and peak periods. Estimated costs will be communicated upon release of the yearly trips calendar at the start of Semester 1. Each trip requires a deposit to be paid to secure your place, which for most of our trips is all you’ll pay directly to RUSS.
Each trip will have a Facebook event and corresponding group chat with all the important dates and information!
How many people can go on the trips?
Trip capacities are listed on the trip schedule as well, however typically are around the 40 person mark. We always reach full capacity and sell out our trips within a matter of minutes, we do have a waiting list for each trip. All our trip releases are facilitated through Humanitix, so be sure to be ready at the trip release time! The link will be shared through our social media pages.
VIC IVs sounds a bit intense, should I attend if I’m not competitive?
The answer is undoubtedly YES. Anyone who has been on VIC IVs will tell you its our biggest and best trip ever. To be on the mountain and doing social/ski events with hundreds of other uni students is the most fun of all time. There are more elite skiers and boarders who will race hard but the majority of the field is there for fun. Get your two events out of the way and then cheer on your pals, hit the spa and slide on over to the pub. The only ability level you need is to be able to get down a blue run without falling over 50 times.
