What is the RUSS Committee?

The RUSS Committee is a group of mainly student volunteers that facilitate, manage and direct everything that is RUSS.

The committee is a rather involved position, however is incredibly rewarding personally, socially and professionally.

What is the AGM?

Our annual general meeting or AGM is where our clubs year is reviewed, all committee positions are declared vacant and a new committee is voted upon. If there is only one applicant for a committee role they will be elected unopposed. If multiple people are running for the same role they will be allowed to make their case to the members present and then a popular vote will decide the winner.

Do I need any experience?

No. Anyone can apply for a committee position and we encourage anyone and everyone to apply. Effort is just as important as expertise.

Are the old committee staying on?

Members of the 2022-2023 committee may chose to run for positions on the 2022 committee but all positions are available and we encourage applicants for all positions regardless of who may be staying.

Can I apply for more than 1 position?

You certainly can and we would encourage you to do so in case you miss out on one. However, you can only hold one position and will have to remove your name form contention for the other positions if elected to a position.

What happens if only 1 person applies for a position?

That person is elected without need for a vote.
